EnergyFlex

Zero Emissions 4075 is pleased to announce a new partnership with EnergyFlex.

EnergyFlex is an Australian‑made, veteran‑owned company that’s transforming the way households understand and use electricity. Their mission is to accelerate Australia’s shift to a renewables‑powered grid by making energy simple, smart, and rewarding.

EnergyFlex helps households navigate the complexity of electricity pricing while addressing two urgent challenges: the rising cost of living and the climate crisis

At the core of EnergyFlex is an app that analyses your electricity usage using data from your smart meter. If you don’t yet have a smart meter, EnergyFlex can help arrange a free installation (subject to switchboard suitability).

What the free version of the app provides

  • Identifies whether better electricity plans are available for your household
  • Offers personalised tips to optimise your usage and reduce costs

What the paid version adds ($50/year or $5/month)

  • Ongoing electricity plan monitoring
  • Market comparison against available plans in your postcode
  • Tariff Tracing comparison of suggested plans
  • Alerts when EnergyFlex identifies projected savings exceeding $200 per year
  • Personalised savings estimates based on your actual usage profile
  • Future ability to tailor alerts based on:
    • savings thresholds
    • tariff preferences
    • retailer preferences

EnergyFlex helps reduce the risk of remaining on outdated or poorly matched plans over time. Without active monitoring, many households end up paying what’s often called a “loyalty tax”—staying on outdated, more expensive plans without realising it.

Special offer for ZE4075 supporters

If you sign up using the link below, you’ll receive one month of free access to the paid version. Additionally, ZE4075 Inc receives a $5 sign‑on bonus from EnergyFlex to support our local community projects.

Don’t delay, the benefit of access to the paid service for a month requires you to add your home when you load the app.

Please feel free to share this opportunity with family, friends, and neighbours who may also benefit.

Additional Information

EnergyFlex is an excellent tool for comparing electricity plans and identifying opportunities to reduce your energy costs. However, like any comparison service, there are some limitations you should keep in mind.

EnergyFlex relies on electricity retailers to provide accurate and up-to-date plan information. While every effort is made to keep this information current, there can occasionally be delays or omissions.

For example:

  • Retailers often update their plans and pricing around the beginning of July each year. During this period, some plan information may temporarily be out of date.
  • Some retailers include benefits that are not reflected in the standard pricing information supplied to EnergyFlex, such as EV charger offers, shopping vouchers, or discounts through partner organisations.
  • Wholesale market-based electricity plans, such as those offered by Amber, are currently outside the scope of EnergyFlex's comparison service. EnergyFlex is working to support these products in a way that accurately reflects their pricing, and we will provide an update when this becomes available.
  • If your electricity usage has changed significantly since your last bill—for example, you've recently purchased an electric vehicle, installed solar panels, or added a home battery—the recommendations may not fully reflect your new usage patterns.

Getting the Best Result

ZE4075 recommends using EnergyFlex as the starting point for your electricity plan comparison.

Once EnergyFlex has identified plans that may better suit your household, visit the retailer's website and review the full details of those plans. Check the pricing, conditions, eligibility requirements, and any additional benefits or exclusions that may not have been included in the comparison.

Using this information, compare the plans against your own household's electricity usage to determine which option provides the greatest overall value—not simply the lowest advertised rates.

Before switching retailers, it's also worth contacting your current electricity provider. Many retailers are willing to match or even beat a competitor's offer to retain existing customers, and a quick phone call could save you the effort of changing providers.

Finally, remember that choosing the right electricity plan is only part of the equation. The biggest savings often come from adjusting when you use electricity. If your plan offers cheaper electricity at certain times of the day, consider shifting flexible loads—such as EV charging, running the dishwasher, washing machine, pool pump, or charging a home battery—to those lower-cost periods wherever practical.
